Hello
My name is Dr Helen Aslett, founder of Sea View Psychology Services. I am an HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist with over 10 years post qualification experience of working in the NHS and private sector.
I graduated with a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Bangor University in Wales in 2014 and since then I have worked in a variety of NHS and private clinical settings including: adult mental health, older adult psychology, pain management services, spinal injuries, major trauma services and neurorehabilitation. Prior to training as a clinical psychologist, I worked as a research psychologist in psycho-oncology and health-service research.

Training to become a Clinical Psychologist in the NHS involved completing 3 years specialist postgraduate training in placements across the lifespan, developing skills in a number of evidence-based therapeutic interventions. Post-qualification I have completed additional training as part of my continuing professional development. I am trained in Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Compassion Focused and Solution Focused Approaches as well as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I have completed additional teacher training in Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBSR/MBCT).

I have specialist interests in physical health, adjustment to illness, life threatening injuries and medical trauma. However, I also work with individuals who are struggling with other challenges and transitions such as trauma-related symptoms; PTSD; bereavement and complicated grief and loss; stress and burn out; low self-esteem; anxiety and depression. For more detailed information on the services offered see below.
I am a BUPA registered clinician and also accept self-referrals. I accept enquiries from solicitors and medico-legal firms for treating clinician work.
